Our precious mother Nancy C. Ufer, age 85, passed away on Monday, March 22, 2021 surrounded by her family. Nancy was one of the strongest and bravest women we have ever known, and we were blessed to have her as the head of our family for so many years.
Born in Dover, New Jersey, Nancy grew into a beautiful, smart, independent, and supportive woman. After retiring from a full career with the Department of Defense she turned her passions towards beach trips (specifically Aruba where she would spend close to a month each year), and moved to Georgia to be close to her family.
Her two sons; Daniel H. Ufer and Brian J. Ufer predeceased Nancy.
Nancy is survived by her two daughters who made up the entirety of her world; Michelle Ufer; and Sue Powers, her son in law Rick Powers, and her sister – her best friend, Peggy Ladd.
Besides her children and sister, Nancy is also survived by her seven grandchildren; Carley Cain, Kacy Ufer, Joseph Ufer, Sophia Herold, Mareah Powers, Jackson Herold, Melissa Powers, and five great grandchildren; Rebecca Cain, Natalie Cain, Margaret Cain, Daniella Cain, and Issi Lunas Powers.
A celebration of life service will be held on a later date.
