Mr. Franklin Curtis Burnette, age 86, of Hoschton, formerly of Buford for 15 years and Cumming for over 20 years, passed away Thursday, April 1, 2021 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center – Braselton.
Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 3, 2021in the Chapel of Memorial Park South Funeral Home with interment following at Memorial Park South Cemetery. Rev. Jeff Benefield, Dr. Jim Ferguson and Dr. Craig Dale will officiate. The family will receive friends 9:00 – 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 3, 2021 at Memorial Park South Funeral Home.
Mr. Burnette was born September 8, 1934 to the late Edley & Alvia MaHaffey Burnette in Blairsville. A Veteran of the United States Army, he was a member of Ivy Creek Baptist Church and retired from G.E., where he was an electrician. A big UGA Fan, he was an avid hunter and fisherman, enjoying the outdoors. He will most be remembered for being a good Christian man who loved his wife dearly and his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mr. Burnette is survived by his wife of 65 years, Carneal Lance Burnette; son & daughter-in-law, Greg & Cathy Burnette; daughter & son-in-law, Connie & Chris Barnes; grandchildren, Josh & Ansley Wilson, Jeremy Wilson, Lauren Burnette and Brandon Burnette; great-grandchildren, Maddalyn Wilson, Kingsley Wilson, Sawyer Wilson and Harper Wilson; siblings, Junior & Brenda Burnette, Richard & Barbara Burnette, and Bonnie & Wayne Dills; and several nieces & nephews. He was also preceded in death by 8 siblings.
