Mrs. Betty Sue Morgan Tapp, 93, of Gainesville, passed away Monday, March 29, 2021 at Ashford Senior Living.
Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 1, 2021 in Memorial Park Cemetery. Dr. Tom Smiley and Dr. Tyler Smiley will officiate.
Born on November 27, 1927 in Hall County, she was the daughter of the late John Ervin and Alice Davis Morgan and the youngest and last surviving of 11 children. Mrs. Tapp was a graduate of Piedmont College and received her Specialist degree in Gifted Education from the University of Georgia. She began her 31 year teaching career at Clermont School before transferring to Candler Street, Miller Park and Enota Elementary and then became the first gifted teacher in Hall County.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Tapp is preceded in death by her husband Arthur Tapp and her 10 siblings
Mrs. Tapp is survived by her daughter and son in law, Candace (Tapp) and Wayne Turner of Gainesville, granddaughter and husband, Melissa (Turner) and Ryan Greenwalt of Flowery Branch, grandson, Alexander Davis Turner of Gainesville, other nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
