Johnny Tynes Senter, age 73 of Oakwood, passed away Friday, March 26, 2021 at his residence following an extended illness.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 30, 2021 at 2:00PM in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with Pastor Bill McKinney officiating and Mr. Stacy Black speaking over the services. Interment will follow in Memorial Park South Cemetery in Flowery Branch. The family will receive friends on Monday, March 29, 2021 from 5:00-9:00PM at the funeral home.
Mr. Senter was born February 11, 1948 in Booneville, Mississippi to Russell and Fern Tynes Senter. He was a member of Christ Place Church. Johnny Senter was a loving Daddy, brother, grandfather and son. He loved cars, fishing and cookouts with his family. He was devoted to his family, the people he worked with and the people who worked for him. He was generous to those around him and always had a smile on his face. Johnny served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. When he returned from war, he went into the redimix concrete business. He retired as C.O.O. of Thomas Concrete in the early 2000’s.
Mr. Senter is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Tanya Senter Black and Stacy Black of Flowery Branch; grandsons, Cade Black and Evan Black; sister and brother-in-law, Tammy and Willie Grove of Mt. Airy; sister and brother-in-law, Andrea “Andi” and Curtis Christholm of Chestnut Mt.; brother and sister-in-law, Donny Joe and Judy Senter of Chestnut Mt.; brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Tressa Senter of Oakwood; brother and sister-in-law, Russell and Patsy Senter of Flowery Branch; brother, Steve Senter of Oakwood; brother, Kim Senter of Flowery Branch; brother and sister-in-law, Terry and Wanda Senter of Flowery Branch.
