Eddie Marshall

Obituary Date: Sunday, March 21, 2021

Eddie Marshall was born February 17, 1956 in Gainesville, GA to the late Robert J. Marshall and Bernice Marshall. He was called home to be with the Lord on March 21, 2021. He was preceded in death by his two brothers, Terry Marshall and Thomas G. Marshall.

At an early age, Eddie attended St. John Baptist Church as well as St. Paul United Methodist Church. He was a graduate of East Hall High School. After graduating from East Hall High School, he enlisted into the United States Navy. Once Eddie received his honorable discharge from the United States Navy, he began his career working in the Construction industry where he worked on several projects.

One of Eddie’s most remarkable accomplishments was when he was a team player on the 1970 eighth grade Gainesville Mill Packers Football Team. The Gainesville Mill Packers went undefeated that season. No opposing team in their division scored one point against them. Eddie was the starting defensive nose tackle and was a natural force on the field. He had superb athletic abilities and loved playing sports in his younger years. Eddie wanted it to be known that he loved all of his children dearly. Furthermore, he wanted all of them to know he will never forget about them and they will always be in his heart and mind.

Eddie returned home to Gainesville, GA on March 18, 2021. He found peace once he arrived back home and understood that he did not have much time left on this earth. He smiled at all of his family and was happy to know so many people loved him and wished him all the Best. To all his Family and Friends, you made Eddie’s last days very special and we know he is happy looking down on us as we show him how much he is Loved!

He leaves to cherish his memories to four children, Edward Tarrell Blocker, Shamia Quinton Ward, Rose Elizabeth Martinez Marshall, and Keyann Marie Martinez Marshall; four grandchildren; mother, Bernice Marshall; four siblings, Barbara Turner, Martha Marshall, Alfonso Marshall, and Daphne Marshall.
