Edgar Allen Jackson

Obituary Date: Thursday, March 18, 2021

Lieutenant colonel Edgar Allen Jackson “al”, 83 years of age, went to be with the Lord on March 18, 2021.

Al, son of the late Edna Allen Jackson and Jack Jackson, was born in Cordelia, Georgia. He went to school in Jackson, Georgia and Saudi Arabia, after graduating from Jackson High. He moved to Atlanta where he attended Georgia tech until he was accepted to the Air Force Academy, from which he graduated in 1962. While stationed in Alabama, he received his Masters Degree at the University of Alabama, “yeah Alabama Crimson Tide!”-he loved to wager a bottle of bourbon with his Auburn friends.

Al served in the U.S. Air Force for 28 years. He received numerous medals and honors. His favorite time during his service to our country was being a F-4 fighter pilot.

After living around the world, Al retired in Mary Ester, Florida where he lived 32 years. He spent his last 5 years in Natchitoches, Louisiana.

Al was preceded in death by his wife of 40 years, Alfie Mcfarlin Jackson and brother, Robert Michael “bob” Jackson. He is survived by one son, Russell Jackson, wife Dawn of Navarre Beach, Florida and daughter, Cathy McCauslin, husband Darren of Natchitoches, Louisiana. Al was blessed with grandchildren, Benjamin and Lauren Jackson of Navarre, Florida, and Casey, wife Malorie, Austin and Caitlyn McCauslin all of Natchitoches. He had two great grand children, Hannah and William.

The family would like to give special thanks to his care givers of the past 4 years to Sheila Hampton, Robert Jackson and Vickie Jo white. Thank you for your kindness.

The family will receive friends at the New Bethel Baptist Church on Saturday, March 27, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. with funeral services to follow at New Bethel Baptist Church at 11:00 a.m. The following are honored to serve as pallbearers, Michael Jackson, Austin McCauslin, Casey McCauslin, Darren McCauslin, Jeremiah Williams, and Mike Williams.

Interment will follow in the New Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery with Military Honors by the U.S. Air Force Honor Guard and the V.F. W. Post 4346 Honor Guard.
