Howard Watson Goodson

Obituary Date: Tuesday, March 23, 2021

Howard Watson Goodson, age 89 of Alto, passed away on Tuesday, March 23, 2021 of natural causes.

Howard was a kind and gentle soul who lived a simple life in rural Banks County. He never ventured far from his roots and gleamed pleasure and contentment from everyday life. Before father time caught up, Howard could be seen taking his daily walks up and down Wynn Lake Road, a fishing adventure or on a squirrel hunt provided some of his greatest joys and would provide conversation for years to come. Howard will be sorely missed but we know he is happy now to be reunited with Granny and Pa Goodson in that wonderful land where there is no pain or sorrow.

Howard was preceded in death by his father, Rev. E.C. Goodson; mother, Lela Roberts Goodson; brothers, Guy Goodson, Noyl Goodson, Robert Goodson, Coy Goodson, Leon Goodson and Earnest Goodson; sister, Bernice Goodson.

Howard is survived by his brother, Ralph Goodson and sisters, Maybelle White and Lavonne Martin all of Alto; numerous nieces, nephews, other friends and family.

Funeral services are scheduled for 3 pm, Friday, March 26, 2021 in the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin and Stewart with Rev. Scott Ledbetter officiating. Interment will follow in Rehoboth Congregational Holiness Church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 2 pm until the service hour on Friday at the funeral home.

Those in attendance are asked to please adhere to the public health and social distancing guidelines regarding COVID-19.
