Richard Wallace Epps

Richard Wallace Epps, age 86, of Cumming GA, passed away Wednesday March 10^th, 2021. Richard was born in 1934, a grew up in the city of Atlanta. Richard was a graduate of Roosevelt High School in 1952. And went on to receive a degree from Georgia State and advanced degree from Auburn University. Richard had a passion for baseball and played for a season with the Cincinnati Reds, before pursuing a career as an educator for 40 years, including 10 years for City of Atlanta Schools and then 30 years with Cobb County Schools as head guidance counselor at Campbell high school before retiring in 2000. Richard spent 40 years working at Georgia Tech athletics with the Bobby Dodd stadium staff as head of stadium security and customer relations. Richard attended church at Milford Church of God and Mount Paran Church of God, with a strong faith in the Lord, and fervent belief in the word of God. Richard enjoyed time with his family, trips to the beach, going to the movies, and following his favorites sports teams. Richard frequently made donations to his favorite charities, Wounded Warriors and the Red Cross. Preceded in death by his father Charles Guy Epps, mother Jewell Epps, and sister Betty Turco. Richard is survived by his sister Norma Harding, son Matt Epps, daughter Melissa Durham Epps, daughter Mary Elizabeth Luzier Epps, son David Epps and Seven Grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM. Monday, March 22^nd at West View Cemetery, 1680 West View Drive, SW, Atlanta GA 30310, services conducted by Ingram Funeral Home, Cumming GA 770-887-2388. The family would like to thank Longleaf Hospice Care, for the compassionate service and care provided for Richard.
