Mr. Edward Harold Simpson, age 52 of Sunset Lane, Toccoa passed away Wednesday, March 17, 2021 at his residence.
A son of the late Frank and Christine Reed Simpson, he was born December 9, 1968 in Stephens County, Georgia where he lived all his life. He was employed as a greeter with Wal-Mart for a number of years. He was a member of Rock Quarry Congregational Holiness Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Cheryl Smith.
Survivors include two brothers and sister-in-law, Billy Simpson of Toccoa and Derrick and Janice Simpson of Alto, Georgia; nephew and niece, Tyler Smith and Kayla Shiley; niece and nephew, Jodi Sosebee and Kameron Sosebee; nine great-nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Sunday, March 21, 2021, 2 O’clock p.m. at the Rock Quarry Congregational Holiness Church with The Reverend Jonathan Sutton and The Reverend Aaron Elrod officiating. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Jeff Fricks, Lee Fricks, Walt Fricks, Garry Simpson, Jerry Shirley, Steven Shiley, Justin Wilson and Robert Murphy.
The family will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Saturday, 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Due to the health and well-being of our community, social distancing must be observed. Interment will follow in the Toccoa City Cemetery with The Reverend Edward Hood officiating.
