Ronald Forbes

Ronald Forbes was born in Rosemount, St. Mary on June 24, 1940.  He was the last of 10 children to Henry and Wilhel Forbes.  Ronald attended Broadgate, and Mahoe Hill Primary Schools.  He left school at 15 years old to take care of his mother, upon the death of his father.  He met and married his wife Daphne, and together they had 6 children; Cislyn, Barbara, Winsome, Raymond, Maxine, and  Huntley.  Ronald worked as a farmer in St. Mary until the age of 40, when he emigrated to the USA.  He settled in Brooklyn, NY and soon gained employment at Manhattan Eye, Ear, Nose and Throat Hospital in Manhattan.  He worked in the Maintenance and Janitorial Services Department.  He worked at the hospital for 25 years, until he retired in 2002.  Soon after retiring, he relocated to Buford, GA.  He worshipped The Fountain Church in Lawrenceville.  On March 14, 2021 he was called to be with the Lord.  Ronald is survived by his wife Daphne, five children, 16 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren.  As well as two daughters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins other relaties and friends.  Ronald was a loving husband, a great father, and a wonderful grandfather.  He loved to travel, and he enjoyed sports.  Ronald was a people person – very social, never met a stranger.  His absence will leave a hole in our hearts.  He will be greatly missed.  May his soul rest in peace.

 A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:30 p.m., Sunday, March 21, 2021 at The Fountain Church, 1985 Old Fountain Rd., Lawrenceville, GA  30043 with Mike McGuire officiating.  Interment will follow at Hamilton Mill Memorial Gardens, Buford, GA.  The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 20, 2021 at Flanigan Funeral Home, Buford, GA.
