Blanch Waldrip Stowers, 88, of Dahlonega passed away Sunday March 14, 2021 at North Georgia Assisted Living following a period of declining health.
Born August 4, 1932 to the late J. Otis and Eva Waldrip, Blanch had been a resident of Lumpkin County for most of her life. Blanch was a 1951 graduate of Sardis High School in Gainesville. Alongside her husband, she owned and operated Stowers Radio and T.V. Service and Sales in Dahlonega and also drove a bus for the Lumpkin County School System for many years. She enjoyed maintaining her family’s farm where she always had beautiful flower and vegetable gardens. Blanch had a great love for animals, especially her beloved cat, Josephine. A member of Harmony Baptist Church in Dawsonville, she was preceded in death by her husband of almost 66 years, Boyd C. Stowers and brother-in-law, Gary White.
Surviving are her son and daughter in law, Phil and Janine Stowers of Lumpkin County; sister, Brenda White of Dalton; brothers and sisters-in-law, Glenn and Virginia Waldrip of Gainesville, Winfred and Betty Waldrip of Ellijay; a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
The family would like to extend a special “Thank You” to caregivers, Brenda Dunn, Janice Hulsey, Hospice of Northeast Georgia Medical Center and North Georgia Assisted Living for the wonderful care that they gave Blanch and her husband.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday March 17, 2021 at 2 p.m. at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Gary Coffey and Rev. Steve Warren will officiate. Interment will follow in Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12 noon until the hour of service on Wednesday. Attendees are requested to please wear a mask and practice social distancing.
