Larry Henderson

Larry Henderson was born on July 26, 1946 in Cumming, Georgia, and lived there his entire life. Larry enjoyed growing up in a large family on land that would eventually become the shores of Lake Lanier. Larry graduated from Forsyth County High where he played football. He enjoyed watching football as well and pulled for the Georgia Bulldogs and Atlanta Falcons until he passed. He also loved watching the Braves play no matter if they were winning or losing. Larry enjoyed water skiing with his brothers and coon hunting earlier in life. Later after marrying, he enjoyed playing softball and raising chickens. Larry always had a quick wit and smile for those that loved him. Larry was easy to talk to and made friends quickly.  Because of this, he knew people all over North Ga and never met a stranger. Larry was a longtime member at Shores of Lanier Baptist Church and was Baptized as a boy in Lake Lanier.

Larry was preceded in death by his mother and father as well as 7 other siblings. He is survived by two siblings, sister Betty Sue and brother Roger Henderson. He is also survived by his daughter Angie Henderson Ballard, his son Thomas Larry Henderson Jr., two stepdaughters, Shari Samples Duncan and Terri Samples as well as his longtime companion Joy Frye. Larry was blessed to have many Grandchildren, Devin Ballard, Ruth Ballard, Elijah Ballard, William Ballard, Carrie Ballard, Tre’ Henderson, Jessica Knowles, Taylor Knowles, Zachary Gary, and Ashley Hines. Larry also had many Great-Grandchildren Sadie Ballard, Charlotte Ballard, Jamie Bell Ballard, Jackson Lewis, Oakley Lowman, Briley Hall, Elijah Hall, Addison Gary, Bo Sprayberry, Maverick Parris and he loved spending time with them whenever he could.

Larry passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on March 11, 2021. He will be dearly missed by all that loved him.
