Lane Thomas Batson

Lane Thomas Batson, age 63 of Demorest, Georgia passed away on Saturday, February 27, 2021 at the St. Francis Hospital - South Campus in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Born in Demorest, Georgia on February 16, 1958, he was the son of the late Charles Thomas & Imogene Irvin Batson. Lane was a 1975 graduate of Habersham Central High School & attended North Georgia Technical College. He was a carpenter for many years and enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Survivors include his son & daughter-in-law, Michael Thomas & Michele Batson of Demorest, GA; daughter, Stephanie Lott; sister, Julie Batson Glenn of Watkinsville, GA; grandchildren, Caroline & Eric Jones, Madison & Jacob Goguen, & Trace Wood; great-granchildren, Natalie, Matthew, Cayden, Styles, & Kierstyn as well as other relatives & friends.

A memorial service celebrating Lane’s life will be held at 5:00 pm Monday, March 15, 2021 at Hillside Memorial Chapel in Clarkesville.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service from 3:00 pm until the service hour.
