Vollie Blevins, age 82, of West Palm Beach, Florida (most recently Cumming, Georgia), passed away on March 6, 2021. He was born on September 1, 1938 in Ages, Kentucky. He was the eldest son of Burley and Odie Blevins.
He proudly served for 3 years in the United States Army. After completing his service, Vollie married his forever love, Phyllis Blevins on October 9, 1961.
Vollie was a friend to all, always willing to help anyone in need and was very generous with his time and resources. He was a talented fisherman, guitar player and handyman.
Vollie was known for his dedication to the church, serving as a Deacon and an Usher for numerous years. He retired young from Florida Power & Light after 27 years of service. After his retirement, he enjoyed spending time with his family, volunteering at the church, fishing for crappie, and working around the yard.
He was preceded in death by his father, Burley Blevins and his mother, Odie Blevins; daughter Kelly Blevins; son-in-law, John W. Potts, and brothers Everett Blevins and Harley Blevins.
He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Phyllis Blevins, and their daughter, Tracey Harvey (Michael), his granddaughters, Laura Potts and Savanna Hejnas (David), grandson Christopher Potts, his four great-grandchildren, Bryson Potts, Hudson, Reid and Madelyn Hejnas, sisters Wanda Morgan, Barbara Pace, Thelma Blevins, Bernice Cook (Gary), Judy Howard (Bill), brother Lewis Blevins (Elizabeth), and 34 nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the staff at Seasons Hospice & Palliative Care in Cumming, Georgia.
