David Paul Bowers - 9/21/54-3/9/21
In the early hours of Tuesday, March 9, 2021, David Paul Bowers played his final hand in that great poker game called “Life.” He left with a full house and in the care of his loving wife and daughter.
David was born on September 21, 1954 in Atlanta to John Lewis Bowers and Barbara (Garrison) Bowers. Following school he became a master craftsman and contractor. David had a great passion for all outdoor activities, especially hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed playing cards, grilling and listening to talk radio. David kept everyone entertained with his many colorful sayings which will live long in the memories of those fortunate enough to have known him.
David was happily married to his wife, Joanne, for 22 years that were rich in laughter and family. He was especially proud of his only child, Christina Ann ("Christy"). She was the light of his life and her many accomplishments in school, career, and family life were a source of great pride to him. Through the years, David and Joanne shared their home with many Jack Russell terriers. David was devoted to all his dogs but was surely greeted in heaven by his faithful companion, Henry. He was preceded in death by his best friend and father John Lewis Bowers. He is survived by his mother, Barbara (Garrison) Bowers, his wife, Joanne (DelGiorno) Bowers, his daughter Christina Ann (Bowers) Nemec (Jason) and his pride and joy grandsons, Brett Alexander Nemec and Peyton Andrew Nemec. David also leaves behind his brother Donald (Valerie) Bowers and many cousins, all who cherish his memory. The family wishes to thank David's caregiver, Alexis Tanner, the staff at Skylark Senior Care (Johns Creek) and Bridgeway Hospice. Their care and compassion for David and his family was an amazing gift. They are truly angels on earth.
Due to Coronavirus restrictions, a celebration of David’s life is being planned for later this year. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made in David's memory to Duck's Unlimited. Condolences can be sent to (insert Ingram's website).
