Richard W. “Ricky” Peacock

Richard W. “Ricky” Peacock, age 63, of Buford, GA passed away March 9, 2021.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Loomis J. Peacock and Patricia Mercer Wilson.  He is survived by is wife of 43 years, Deborah Griffin Peacock, Buford, GA; children, Kay (Brian) McAvoy, Gainesville, GA, Jake Peacock, Milton, GA, Marie (Michael) Bermejo, Athens, GA; grandchild, Dason Bermejo; sister, Tina Peacock Ford, Gainesville, GA; several nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.  Mr. Peacock was born on July 27, 1957 in Waycross, GA.  He was a 1975 graduate of Waycross High School. Mr. Peacock was a member of First Baptist Church of Buford where he was also a member of the Lighthouse Sunday School Class.  He enjoyed weight lifting and loved older cars.  He had many other interest that he loved.  Mr. Peacock worked at CSX in The Backshop as Equipment Operator for 11 years.  After that, he became a “Mr.Mom” for 10 years.  Then, he worked doing residential and commercial electrical for 3 years. Then was employed with Peachtree Services in Duluth as a Service Technician for 20 years in residential and then moved to be a commercial installer then later a commercial service Tech. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, March 12, 2021 at Flanigan Funeral Home, Buford, GA.   Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, March 13, 2021 in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home with Rev. Stephen Fountain officiating.  Also, the Family will Receive Friends at Music Funeral Home in Waycross, GA on Sunday, March 14, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.  Interment will follow on Monday, March 15, 2021 with a Graveside Service at Oakland Cemetery, Waycross, GA at 11:00 a.m. with Dr. Bill Young officiating.  Music Funeral Home will be handling the Visitation and Graveside service in Waycross, GA.
