Robert Lee Garmon

Obituary Date: Monday, March 8, 2021

Mr. Robert Lee Garmon, age 76 of Bobby Street, Toccoa passed away Monday, March 8, 2021 at the Stephens County Hospital.

 

A son of the late Amos and Neva Brooks Garmon, he was born March 24, 1944 in Dekalb County, Georgia having lived most of his life in Toccoa. He was a member of Toccoa Assembly of God and his favorite hobby was playing the guitar. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Pruitt Garmon in 2017, by a brother, A.C. Garmon and by three sisters, Betty Frady, Frances Parrish and Martha Barfield.

 

Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Crystal and Mike Buttimer of Warner Robins, Georgia; two grandsons, Thomas and Nathan Buttimer of Warner Robins; two sisters and brother-in-law, Janet and Bill Fain of Dawsonville, Georgia and Helen Bates of Brandon, Florida; brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Thelma Garmon of Gainesville; nephew, Derrick McCurley of Toccoa.

 

Funeral services will be Thursday, March 11, 2021, 2 O’clock p.m. in the Hillcrest Chapel of the Acree-Davis Funeral Home with The Reverend Lester Cowan officiating. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Bill Fain, Billy Shirley, Buddy Garmon, Charles Garmon, Jr., Charlie Parrish and Joey Pruitt.

 

The family will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Thursday from noon until the service time. Due to the health and well-being of our community, social distancing must be observed. Masks are encouraged during the visitation and service. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.acree-davisfh.com.

 

Interment will follow in the Stephens Memorial Gardens with the Acree-Davis Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements for Mr. Robert Lee Garmon.
