Horace “Lamar” Mullinax, age 78, passed away Monday, March 8, 2021 at Northside Forsyth Hospital after a brief Illness. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clay & Lucille Mullinax, a brother Douglas Mullinax, a sister Linda Poole, and a grandson Brandon Smilnak.
Lamar was a wonderful husband, father and grandad. He loved his grandchildren dearly and took much pride in their accomplishments. He enjoyed watching the Grands when they were participating in their sport activities. He especially liked to go fishing with his grandson and son whether it be off the pier or in a boat at the ocean. Lamar had a green thumb. He could grow anything. When he had a garden, he was quite proud of his tomatoes and watermelons. Two places Lamar liked to visit were Gulf Shores and Gatlinburg. He enjoyed the beach with the Grands. Gatlinburg brought mountain trout, a favorite food.
Lamar was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving Lamar is his wife of 55 years, Bobbie, his son Craig (Jane) Mullinax, a daughter Stacy (Paul) Smilnak, and 4 grands, Anna, Mary, Abby, and Walter. He is also survived by his brothers, Gene (Sara) Mullinax, of Cumming, Billy (Bobbie) Mullinax of Alpharetta, a sister Brenda Mullinax, and a brother-in-law Bill Poole of Bloomingdale, GA, nieces and nephews and cousins also survive.
Memorial services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Sunday March 14, 2021 at Ingram Funeral Home Chapel with visitation beginning at 12:00 PM until time of service. The family respectfully requests in lieu of flowers please make donations to your favorite charity in Lamar’s name.
