Mr. Charles Emory Gibson, age 57 of Petty John Lane, Mt. Airy passed away Sunday, March 7, 2021 at his residence.
A son of the late Garnett and Lena Eller Gibson, he was born July 19, 1963 in Rabun County, Georgia having lived most of his life in Stephens and Habersham Counties. He was a carpenter by trade, was of the Baptist faith and an avid fisherman and hunter. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Otis Gibson and Bobby Gibson and by a sister, Lila Griffin.
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, April and Kevin Frady of Mt. Airy and Crystal and Brandon Sutton of Clarkesville; grandchildren, Kennedy Gibson, Jayden Frady and John Tanner Sutton; sister, Dorothy Glenn of Toccoa.
Graveside services will be Wednesday, March 10, 2021, 2 O’clock p.m. at the Welcome Home Baptist Church Cemetery with The Reverend Chad Smith officiating. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Patrick Terrell, Tony Eller, Tommy Eller, Kevin Frady, Brandon Sutton and Patrick Carter.
The family will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Wednesday from noon until time to leave for the graveside service. Due to the health and well-being of our community, social distancing must be observed. The wearing of masks during the visitation and service is encouraged. Interment will follow in the Welcome Home Baptist Church Cemetery with the Acree-Davis Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements for Mr. Charles Gibson.
