Joe Frank Poole

Joe Frank Poole, age 86 of Cornelia, passed away Thursday, March 4, 2021 at his residence following a brief illness.

Born in Dahlonega on June 7, 1934, Mr. Poole was the son of the late Charles D. and Winnie Barrett Poole.  He was a graduate of Cumming High School and was a United States Army Veteran.  Mr. Poole was retired from the VA Hospital where he worked in management and he was a member of Level Grove Baptist Church.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Poole is preceded in death by brother Charles Dunaway Poole, Jr., son in law Russell Glen Banks and grandson Jacob Thomas Roach.

Survivors include his wife Wanda Joan Amos Poole of Cornelia, daughter Lynn Poole Banks of Lawrenceville, step-daughter Susan Boyd Watson (Mark) of Clarkesville, grandchildren Justin Arthur Roach of Snellville, Jesse Wallace Roach of Lawrenceville, Misti Dawn Elrod of Hoschton, Amber Elizabeth Miller of Clarkesville and Heather Alexanderia Frantz (Joel) of Canton, as well as thirteen great grandchildren and a host of extended family and friends.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, March 7, 2021 at Hillside Gardens Cemetery with Rev. Terry Rice, officiating.  Military Honors will be provided by the Grant Reeves Honor Guard.
