Mrs. Carolyn Vernie Bearden Turpin, age 72 of Busha Street, Toccoa passed away Wednesday, March 3, 2021 at her residence.
A daughter of the late Samuel Abel Bearden ad Vernie Martha Bearden, she was born March 8, 1948 in Oconee County, South Carolina having lived most of her life in Stephens County. He was employed with Fieldale for a number of years and was of the Baptist faith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Turpin in 2020, by a brother, Cecil Bearden and by a sister, Thelma Long.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Denese and Joel May of Toccoa; three sons and daughter-in-law, Cregg Turpin and Anthony Turpin both of Toccoa and Leroy and Melissa Turpin of Franklin, North Carolina; two grandsons; two sisters, Linda Mae Bohannon and Joann Brown both of Toccoa.
Funeral services will be Friday, March 5, 2021, 2 O’clock p.m. in the Hillcrest Chapel of the Acree-Davis Funeral Home with The Reverend Joel May and The Reverend Marvin Brown officiating.
The family will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Thursday, 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Due to the health and well-being of our community, social distancing must be observed. Interment will follow in the Stephens Memorial Gardens with the Acree-Davis Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements for Mrs. Carolyn Turpin.
