Mr. Richard W. Stowe Jr., age 77, of Hoschton passed away on Saturday, February 27, 2021.
Mr. Stowe was born August 18, 1943 to the late Richard Sr. & Amy Stowe in Greensboro, North Carolina. He served in the Air Force, graduated from Georgia State, and enjoyed a lengthy career in corporate real estate with Lowe Engineers and Harris Lanier Corp.
Rick was an avid University of Georgia football fan and loved the Atlanta Braves. His blood ran Carolina blue during basketball season as he cheered the Tarheels on during March Madness. In his spare time, he enjoyed gardening, reading, and was a founding member of the Deaton Creek Daytimers Poker Club. He was a devoted and loving father and he passed onto his children his appreciation for 70’s classic rock including Fleetwood Mac, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Elton John, Bonnie Raitt, and the Doobie Brothers. He treasured his grandchildren and spoiled them whenever possible with trips to the bookstore, ice cream, and movie matinees. Rick had a passion for traveling with his wife, Beverly, whom he adored. Rarely did a season go by when they were not on a cruise ship. One had to wonder was it the beauty of the ocean or the excitement of the casinos that kept bringing him back. He loved a good map. Always warm, welcoming, and ready for a good time, Rick was a joy to be around. He will be dearly missed.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly Stowe; son, Richard W. Stowe III; son & daughter-in-law Jimmy & Valorie English; daughter & son-in-law, Katy Stowe & Greg Palombi; daughter & son-in-law, Melissa & Chris Moore; brother & sister-in-law, Stephen & Linda Stowe; sister, Karen Howison; grandchildren, Reeves, Hutch, Olivia, Layla Grace, Andrew, and Ian; and several nieces, nephews and his beloved fur baby, Bentley.
