Rosa Lee Parker

Obituary Date: Sunday, February 28, 2021

Mrs. Rosa Lee Parker, age 94 of Oakwood, passed away on Sunday, February 28, 2021 at The Waterford of Oakwood.

Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, March 3, 2021 at 3:30 pm in Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev. Phil Parks and Rev. Phil Carpenter officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Born February 14, 1927 in Banks County, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Will and Callie Pritchett. In addition to her parents, Rose was preceded in death by 11 siblings.

Rose graduated in 1946 from Hickory Flat School in Banks County, GA.

Rose married her lifelong love, Clarence “Bud” Parker May 11, 1946. They were happily married for 60 years until Bud’s passing in 2006. They never had children of their own but they were blessed with numerous nieces and nephews on both sides of the family they loved very much.

Rose began her working career while in the 11th grade at New Holland Mill. She also worked at Chicopee Manufacturing and Wrigley’s where she retired in 1987.

After retirement, Rose and Bud traveled extensively via charter bus visiting the continental 48 states. Rose loved to joke and have fun with family and friends and was well known for speaking her mind. She was a member of Chicopee Baptist Church.

The family would like to thank The Waterford of Oakwood and Homestead Hospice for their loving care.
