Emmie Joyce Ayers Dewberry

Mrs. Emmie Joyce Ayers Dewberry, age 91 passed away Saturday, February 27, 2021 at her residence.

A daughter of the late Ernest and Lila Kesler Ayers, she was born February 24, 1930 in Franklin County, Georgia where she lived the greater part of her life. She was retired from GTE with a long number of years of service and later retired from Wal-Mart. She was a member of Tates Creek Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William “Bill” Dewberry in 2000, brother, Gerald Ayers and by a sister, Lavell Payne.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Danny and Kelley Dewberry of Toccoa; granddaughters, Amber Dodd and Morgan Dewberry; sister and brother-in-law, Hellon and Joe Defoor of Toccoa.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, March 3, 2021, 2 O’clock p.m. in the Hillcrest Chapel of the Acree-Davis Funeral Home with the Reverend Jerrell Beatty officiating.

The family will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Tuesday, 6 p.m. until 8 pm. Due to the health and well-being of our community, social distancing must be observed. Masks are encouraged during the visitation and service. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.acree-davisfh.com.

Flowers are to be omitted. Memorials may be made to Tates Creek Baptist Church, 4052 Highway 184 N., Toccoa, Georgia 30577 in memory of Mrs. Emmie Ayers Dewberry.

Interment will follow in the Tates Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with the Acree-Davis Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements for Mrs. Emmie Ayers Dewberry.
