Reverend Melvin Gerald Baugh

Reverend Melvin Gerald Baugh, age 79 of Lula, passed away on Saturday, February 27, 2021 at his residence following an extended illness.

                Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 2, 2021 at 3:00pm in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with Reverend Drewery Loggins and Reverend Randolph Batey officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday, March 1, 2021 from 5:00-7:00pm at the funeral home. The funeral service will be livestreamed on the Memorial Park Funeral Home Facebook Page.

                Reverend Baugh was born April 12, 1941 in Gainesville, Georgia to James Dillard Baugh and Grace Wallace Baugh. Throughout his ministry, Reverend Baugh pastored Emmaus Baptist Church in Hall County, Mt Pisgah Baptist Church in Lumpkin County, Bethlehem Baptist Church in Hall County and also assisted in numerous church revivals all over Northeast Georgia. He was retired from Hall County Schools and was the owner and operator of Baugh’s Florist. He attended Lula High School and was a member of Emmaus Baptist Church. Reverend Baugh was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Chandler Baugh.

                Reverend Baugh is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Geneva Cagle Baugh of Lula; daughter and son-in-law, Vivica Baugh O’Donnell and Bill O’Donnell of Lula; daughter and son-in-law, Lucretia Baugh Crowe and Darren Crowe of Commerce; son and daughter-in-law, Dion and Linda Baugh of Flowery Branch; grandchildren, Carly and Josh Simmons; Devin and Xena O’Donnell; Kristin and Andrew Simmons; Austin and India Crowe; Courtney and Drew Whitfield; Brandon and Blythe Millwood and Blake Millwood; 9 great-grandchildren.
