An old saying suggests that life is like a giant puzzle—each of us is given the ability to piece together our own puzzle. As a young woman, Peggy identified the major components of her life puzzle: to glorify God, to honor her marriage and home, to develop her musical career and to attain an education that would provide the skills needed to motivate children in a classroom. Peggy worked on her life puzzle all her life.
She and Lamar incorporated worship, prayer and Bible study into daily life, building a strong marriage and friendships within the Clarkesville United Methodist Church. She was a devout learner and teacher. As an elementary school teacher, she did not just focus on teaching a curriculum, she taught the joy of learning and achieving. As a piano teacher, she focused on loving all components of musical expression. She encouraged students to perform in the National Piano Playing Auditions. She knew that even God-given talent must be nurtured with practice, practice, practice. Her students did participate in the Auditions, earning recognitions & certifications. Peggy generously shared her own talents as a pianist and organist. What a treat and a blessing to hear her play!
Peggy leaves us a beautifully completed life puzzle picture. She lived her life with intention and commitment to those values and ideals that always mattered to her. We are truly blessed to have memories that add color and dimension to our lives.
