Byron H. Jones, age 89, of Young Harris, GA passed away February 26, 2021. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Maude Jones; sister, Belma Jones Shadburn; brothers, Clarence Jones, Harley Jones, Johnny Jones. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Flora Watkins Jones, Young Harris, GA; children, Sheila (Donald) Henderson, Winder, GA, Linda (Charles) Stephens, Winder, GA, Doug (Barbara) Jones, Gillisville, GA; grand daughters, Tia (Creighton) Lancaster, Jefferson, GA, Hope Turner, Flowery Branch, GA; grandsons, Deston (Mandy) Stephens, Jefferson, GA, Hardy (Amanda) Jones , Braselton, GA; six great-grandsons; three great-grand daughters; one great-great grandson; one great-grand daughter; brother-in-law, Rev. Joel Shadburn, Cleveland, GA; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Mr. Jones was born February 15, 1932 in Flowery Branch, GA. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was also a graduate of Flowery Branch High School. Mr. Jones was a retired carpenter and worked for Willis Gallaway Construction for 32 years. He was a member of Friendship Baptist Church, Buford, GA. There are no formal services planned at this time.
