Nellie Andino

Obituary Date: Wednesday, February 24, 2021

Nellie Andino was born on the West Coast of Puerto Rico on 08/21/1944. She came to America with her parents Mariano & Epiphania at two years old and lived in New York City for the next seventy years. During that time, she spent most of her childhood with her siblings Eddie, Davis and her late sister Aida. Often in church or in the company of relatives living in Manhattan.

She graduated high school in 1962. Later that year she married Arnie Andino at a small church in New York City. Soon after Nellie gave birth to her only surviving son Nathan, who blessed her with 4 grandchildren (1 girl and 3 boys). Nathan later remarried to his present wife Patsy and was blessed yet again with another granddaughter.

Nellie worked for Chubb Ins. Company for many years. She loved working at Chubb, attending the many gatherings and party’s and making many longtime friends along the way.

On 11/06/2018 she moved with her husband to Cumming, GA, where she was reunited with her son and daughter-in-law. Nellie and Arnie had wonderful times in GA, often shopping, eating out, and spending time with friends at the senior center as well as going to church.

Nellie had battled and beaten COVID-19, she later endured a stroke which left her unable to walk or speak. She was bedridden for four months and on 02/12/2021 Nellie quietly and peacefully left this world to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

To her many relatives, nieces, nephews, friends and former co-workers who took the time to call her weekly let me just say you all will never know how Nellie treasured those many calls from you. Up to the very end when she could no longer speak, she loved those conversations, she treasured them all.

To our neighbors, church brethren and to the senior center who cooked meals, sent snacks, visited and offered words of encouragement as well as their prayers. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU

Lastly to my daughter-in-law Patsy who comforted me in those last days and helped with the funeral arrangements, THANK YOU ALSO.

I Arnie Andino know the greatest gift I ever received from the LORD was my wife of 58 years Nellie.

AMEN.

The family will receive friends February 24, 2021 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm at McDonald and Son. Her service will be February 25, 2021 at 11:00 am at the McDonald and Son Chapel. Interment will follow at Georgia National at 2:00 pm.
