William Philip Baker, 78 of Gainesville, GA, passed away Wednesday, February 24, 2021. He was born in Gainesville, GA to late William Henry and Sarah Dowdy Baker. Philip was of the Baptist Faith and preceded in death by his parents and an infant son, William Baker.
Philip worked for over 50 years and retired from Gainesville Truck Center. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed collecting coins. He loved sports, especially GA Tech.
Survivors include his loving wife of 20 years, Diane Watson Baker; children, Philip Sheldon & Stacy Baker; Renee & Shane Gazaway; Ben Dougherty & Angela Dooley; grandchildren, Bradley Baker, Blake Sosebee, Ethan Sosebee, Emma Grace Gazaway, Rhett Dougherty, Kenley Patton & Jacob Cradle; great-granddaughter, Zoe Baker; brother & sister-in-law, Stanley & Nita Baker; aunt, Nell Dowdy; sister-in-law & brother-in-law, Joyce & Larry Cash; several nieces, nephews & other family members also survive.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM, Sunday, February 28, 2021 in the chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home, 2030 Memorial Park Rd. Gainesville, GA 30504. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, February 27, 2021 from 5:00-8:00PM.
