Nancy Rivers Thompson Blanchard
Born April 5th, 1948 in Atlanta Ga.
Nancy passed away on February 23, 2021, with her daughters holding each hand. An immensely devoted mother to her three girls and an
unconditionally loving friend to those who knew her well.
Nancy was preceded in death by her first born, Sydney Rivers Blanchard Smith, survived by son-in
law Bryan Smith. She is survived by daughter Franky Glynn-Glynn Blanchard Brown, son-in
law Jason Brown and daughter Christy Blanchard Forehand, son-in-law Chris Forehand.
Nancy was blessed with six grandchildren, Sydney Anna, Holden Pierce, Madelyn Rivers, Sydney Rivers, Parky Lou Maclain, and Carson Wavery.
Nancy was the middle child born to Oscar Holden Thompson and Frances Augustus Ricks, better known to their many adoring grandchildren as Fu?er and Pop. She was also preceded in death by her loving sister Frances Armstrong, survived by brother-in-law Roy Armstrong; brother Holden Thompson and sister-in-law Elsie Thompson; sister Glenn Simpson and brother-in-law Bob Simpson; brother Jack Thompson and sister-in-law Beth Thompson; sister Jean Rybert, and Patricia and Perry King.
Nancy is preceded in death by three cherished nieces and is survived by many nieces and nephews who describe her best as “a second Mom.”
Nancy was a lifelong member of Peachtree Road United Methodist Church where she spent much of her free time volunteering to help Atlanta’s
homess.
Nancy’s passion was in caring for and loving animals as well as teaching first grade.
Nancy’s spontaneous, adventurous, and above all, loving nature will be missed and carried on by her daughters and her grand babies always.
Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 27, 2021at 2:00 pm in the sanctuary of Peachtree Road United Methodist Church. All those who would like to attend the service are asked to enter through the Rollins building located behind the sanctuary.
