Lewis Lee born January 10th 1930 passed February 23rd 2021. He met his wife Geraldine while he and his brother were singing Gospel music at church. The story goes, she winked she winked back. In 1947 they were married. Mr. Lee was raised on a farm. He had a way of showing that he cared about you by bringing the best picked vegetables that he could find that day. Mr. Lee was a talented musician but chose his family over a career in the music business. He was so talented and creative that he was able to make the string instruments that he played.
He taught his grandchildren and children by example but the ability to play anything you hear by ear is not so easy to teach. A storyteller all of his days, he never met a stranger. Mr. Lee's neighbors will miss seeing him wave from his tractor as they drove by.
Mr. Lee is preceded in death by his parents Claude Lee and Maude Wiggly Lee, his wife Geraldine Lee, his son Donny Lee, and his grandson Shane Lee, as well as his brothers and sister.
Mr. Lee is survived by; and will be greatly missed by, his daughter Dale Chambers, grandchildren Kim Loggins Saine (Brant Saine) and Ashley Chambers; and his great grandchildren Kameron and Kasen Tompkins.
Family will receive friends on Thursday February 25, 2021 from 5pm until 8pm and on Friday from 12pm until 2pm. A service will follow in the chapel of Dahlonega Funeral Home. Interment to follow at Hopewell Methodist Church Cemetery in Gainesville, GA.
