Patsy A. Higgins

Mrs. Patsy A. Higgins, age 78, of Dahlonega, Georgia passed away on Sunday, February 21, 2021. She was born on May 1, 1942 in Dahlonega to the late Price Anderson and the late Estelle Crawford Anderson. Patsy was of the Baptist faith and was a lifelong member of Mill Creek Baptist Church where she will be laid to rest beside her loving husband, the late Donald Higgins. 

Patsy was a lady of many trades, talents and hobbies, however she will always be remembered as a homemaker who truly used those skills to make a house a home. She could often be found tending to her garden or sewing a quilt. For many years she provided a place for the entire family to gather and make precious memories. Whenever you would go to visit Patsy, you could not simply leave her house empty handed. She would send you with gifts that she had made whether it be a new quilt, a jar of pickles, or an arm load of home grown tomatoes. One thing that Patsy knew and taught was the importance of sharing and taking care of those around you. More than anything on this earth, Patsy loved all of her grandkids and was affectionately known by them as "Granny" and "Gran".

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Donald Higgins; daughter, Gwen Higgins; and siblings, Maurice Anderson, Winston Anderson, Merle Russell, and Barbara Callaway.

She is survived by her children, Donna (Ricky) Kirkland of Cumming, Chris (Stephanie) Higgins of Dahlonega, and Kelly (Lee) Adkins of Dahlonega; sister, Mazie Songer of Cumming; grand and great-grandchildren, Ryan McDuffie, Sam McDuffie, Grayson McDuffie, Sawyer McDuffie, Ben McCormick, Fiona McCormick, Yan Chen, Seth Kirkland, Brittani Sewell, Anna Kirkland, Jessie Clinton, Will Higgins, Ansley Jarrard, Christen Higgins, Westin Higgins, Charley King and Caylee Adkins. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. 

A graveside service is scheduled for Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at 3:00 PM at Mill Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Jack Pilcher officiating. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 23, 2021 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Anderson-Underwood Funeral Home. The family has asked that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the cemetery fund of Mill Creek Baptist Church in memory of Patsy.
