Lida Couch Haney

Lida Couch Haney, age 83, of Flowery Branch, GA passed away Sunday, February 21, 2021. She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-six years, Herbert Eugene Haney; granddaughter, Casey Nikita Reynolds; parents, Russell and Ruby Pearl Couch; and brother, J. C. Couch. She is survived by her children, Debbie (Lamar) Watson, Mauldin, SC, Donna (Buddy) Loving, Flowery Branch, GA, Dale (Steve) Abernathy, Jefferson, GA, Darryl Haney, Gainesville, GA; grandchildren, Ashley Watson Banks and husband Chris Banks, Emily Watson, Christa Reynolds and fiancé Elizabeth Jenkins, Philicia Loving, Daniel Haney, Tyler Haney, Justin Haney, Kayla Haney, Terry (Sarah) Brewer, Tabitha Brewer; great grandchildren, Nathan Montgomery, Hadlee Grace Brewer, Memphis Haney; six step grandchildren; fourteen step great grandchildren; five step great great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Sue Plunkett Haney, Buford, GA, Marie Haney Berry, Buford, GA, Imogene Haney Clark, Sugar Hill, GA; and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jesse Lee and Sara Haney, Buford, GA. Mrs. Haney was born February 4, 1938 in Flowery Branch, GA. She received her education at Flowery Branch High School. She was retired from Wrigley Chewing Gum Factory with over thirty years of service. She was a lifelong member of the Flat Creek Baptist Church in Gainesville, GA. She was a participated in VBS, WMU, Adult Senior Choir, TLP Senior Group, Greeter Team and she played the piano. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, camping and spent a lot of time with her family. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home with Dr. Joe Vernon, Rev. John Haney and Rev. Calvin Haney officiating. Interment will follow at Broadlawn Memorial Gardens in Buford, GA. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 23^rd from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
