Dan Blackwell, 80 of Lawrenceville, GA passed away Tuesday, February 16, 2021 at Northside Hospital Gwinnett.
A native of Gainesville, GA, Dan graduated from Gainesville High School and Truett McConnell College. He was a veteran of The United States Army. Dan spent decades in automotive sales working with Lamar Ferrell Chevrolet, Jerry Brown Chevrolet and retired from Nash Chevrolet in Lawrenceville. Dan received awards for Top Sales, he saw greater value investing in the lives of his customers and colleagues. Dan assisted in establishing and participated in a prayer group at Nash Chevrolet. After his retirement, he enjoyed traveling, his time with the “Men’s Coffee Group, Senior Bible Study, Meals on Wheels, eating out and enjoying time with his family and their activities. Dan was a member of and Deacon at North Metro Baptist Church, where he was Prayer Leader for his Life Group. He was a former member and Deacon at Rehoboth Baptist Church in Tucker. Dan was a true “Prayer Warrior” interceding for his family and friends.
Dan was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest Blackwell, Sr, Mary Lou Blackwell, his siblings, Monroe Blackwell, Frances Coker, Nettie Sims and Ernest Blackwell, Jr.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda Blackwell, daughters, Beth Hearn (Rick), Cindy Wortham (Jay), his sister, Eunice Jamieson, grandchildren, Lauren Hearn, Katie Wortham, Tyler Wortham, Abigail Hearn and a great grandson, Tyson Alexander Barr.
Funeral services will be private with interment in Floral Hills Memory Gardens.
