Gardenia “Dean” Currie

Gardenia “Dean” Currie was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She left this world peacefully on February 13, 2021.

Born to Delmas and Della Sloan in Inez, Kentucky, Dean met Ralph Currie, the love of her life, at an early age. The two quickly married and lived an incredibly happy life together for over 50 years. Dean is survived by her son, Steve; daughters, Brenda, April, and Heather; grandchildren, Katie and Charlie; and great-grandchildren, Grace, Joshua, Clay and Avery.

Gardenia was beautiful inside and out. She was a small but mighty force of nature that refused to be ignored and loved spending time with her family. She had a chance to travel the world and loved the mountains most of all. Dean spent the last few years of her life near Dahlonega Ga, making friends, singing in her church choir, and living each day to the fullest. 

While her family will miss her every day, we are so grateful that she is reunited with her husband Ralph and the many beloved family members that passed before her. Dean will be honored in a graveside service at the Dahlonega Memorial Park Cemetery on Saturday February 20, 2021 at 2 p.m.
