Mr. Jim Moore, age 96 of Elick Smith Road, Westminister, South Carolina passed away Sunday, February 14, 2021 at Doctors Hospital in Augusta, Georgia.
A son of the late Elie and Elizabeth Wilbanks Moore, he was born January 19, 1925 in Oconee County, South Carolina where he lived all his life in the Madison Community. He was retired from the South Carolina State Department and a retired farmer. He was a member of Old Madison Baptist Church and was an avid outdoorsman. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Joy Miller Moore in April, 2020, by three brothers, Rob, John and Louie and by two sisters, Ollie and Lucy.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Jamie and Tina Moore of Westminster, South Carolina; daughter, Kathy Hawthorne; grandsons, Eli Moore, Alex Moore, Ashton Moore and Samuel Hawthorne; special niece and nephew, Carolyn Frady and Roger Sheppard.
Graveside services will be Wednesday, February 17, 2021, 4 O’clock p.m. at the Old Madison Baptist Church Cemetery with The Reverend Mark Nelson officiating. The follow gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Alex Moore, Eli Moore, Ashton Moore, Roger Sheppard and Leslie Jones.
The family will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Tuesday, 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. and on Wednesday from 2 p.m. until time to leave for the service. Due to the health and well-being of our community, social distancing must be observed. Masks are encouraged during the visitation and the service. Interment will follow in the Old Madison Baptist Church Cemetery with the Acree-Davis Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements for Mr. Jim Moore.
