Rev. Harold Evans, 73, of Dawsonville passed away Monday February 15, 2021 at North Fulton Regional Hospital following a short illness.
Born August 11, 1947 in Cumming, GA to the late Gib and Alva Evans, he lived in Dawson County most of his life. Harold worked for Tyson Foods for many years until his retirement. An ordained Baptist minister, he served as pastor of nine different churches during a span of 50 years. He was a U. S. Army veteran of the Vietnam era and was a member of High Shoals Baptist Church. Also preceding him in death was his beloved wife, Sarah Evans.
Surviving are his children, Susan and Larry Holtzclaw, Dawsonville, Helen and Jeff Martin, Cumming, Tim and Katarina Evans, Dawsonville; grandchildren, Ethan, Nicole, Braden, Marisa, Alaina, Will, Stephanie, Marko; sisters and brother in law, Joann and Earl Smith, Gainesville, Brenda Smith, Dillard; brothers and sisters in law, Bradley and Judy Evans, Ohio, Rev. Donnie Evans, Dawsonville, Rev. Danny and Peggy Evans, Gainesville; sister in law and brother in law, Emma Lou and Mack Higgins, Dawsonville; and a number of other relatives.
Funeral services will be held Friday February 19, 2021 at 1 o’clock at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Cecil Reeves, Rev. Leonard W. Ridings, Rev. Danny Evans, and Rev. Donnie Evans will officiate. Interment will follow in the High Shoals Baptist Church Cemetery with military honors.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 3 until 8 and on Friday from 10 until 1 at the funeral home.
