Bobby Ray Hall, 88 of Flowery Branch passed away peacefully at his home of 56 years on February 14, 2021 following an extended illness.
Bobby was born June 6, 1932 to the late Henry and Pauline Duncan Hall in Jackson County, Georgia. Bobby retired after 32 years of service from First National Bank of Gainesville, and retired again from Superior Court of Hall County as Bailiff after 25 years of service. He graduated from Lyman Hall High School.
He loved coaching Little League, umpiring, and driving the pace car at Lanier Raceway. He loved growing vegetables in his garden to share with friends and neighbors. He was passionate about his relationship with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Bobby loved his family, friends, and neighbors, and especially his church family at Flat Creek Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Margie Reed Hall; sons; Robby (Charlene) Hall of Gainesville; Donnie (Jeanine) Hall, Flowery Branch; grandchildren, Beth (Ryan) Owen, Jefferson; Joseph (Maggie) Eterno, Jefferson; Catherine (Josh) Payne, Cleveland; great grandchildren; Cooper and Clay Owen; Josiah, Mary, and MacKenzie Eterno; Austin and Aaron Payne. sisters-in-law, Betty Kersh; Erenesteen Martin and a host of nieces and nephews.
Bobby is preceded in death by his parents, brothers and sister-in-law, Jack and Mildred Hall; Dwaine and Ethel Hall; and Lamar Hall; sisters and brothers-in-law, Jeraldine and Gordon Chitwood; Ruby and Bennie Hulsey.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday February 17, 2021 at the Poplar Springs Baptist Church. Rev. Zach Williams and Rev. Mike Taylor will officiate. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery with Rev. Phil Carpenter officiating. Mr. Hall's remains will lie in state at the church on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral hour. The family will receive friends at Little & Davenport Funeral Home Tuesday February 16 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic social distancing will need to be observed for the health and safety of everyone and mask are recommended.
Flowers will be accepted but those desiring may make memorial contributions to Flat Creek Baptist Church or Eagle Ranch.
