Rita was also blessed with 11 great-grandchildren; Aiden Richardson, Colton Richardson, Branson Smith, Kade McCoy, Kason McCoy, Knox McCoy, Asher Adams, Skylar Jane Adams, Jack Moth, Jordan Moth and Elliana Henshaw. Rita left an indelible mark on her entire family as she modeled a humble, modest, and sincere godly lifestyle. Her remarkable legacy will live on for generations to come.

Rita’s love for the Atlanta Braves was exceeded only by her love of gardening which was exceeded only by her love for God. Rita accepted Christ at a very early age and served as a pastor’s wife, pianist, vocalist, women’s ministry leader, Sunday School teacher and many other roles as she joyfully served in the church. She could be found almost every Sunday morning in the second row of Restoration Church where she supported her son, Pastor Chuck Ramsey, and passionately worshipped the One she called Lord. Growing up in the mountains of Virginia Rita had a knack for gardening early and she loved growing fresh vegetables and canning the items she grew. She was a master at preparing delicious southern cuisine that often included the harvest from her own garden. Rita knew every player on the Braves and could often recite their statistics and would gladly share the details of the most recent game.

Rita’s funeral service will be Saturday, February 13, 2021 at 1:00 pm at Restoration Church, 410 Rucker Road ,Alpharetta, GA.

A graveside service will take place on Monday, February 15, 2021 at 11:00 am in Felts Cemetery in her native Galax, Virginia.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Restoration Church and designated for the Rita Ramsey Benevolence Fund where gifts will continue to be given to those in need as she was a lover and sacrificial giver to the less fortunate.
