Frankie Mae Osborne was born in Buford, Georgia on January 30, 1944 to the late Frank and Nellie Stringer. She was the oldest of three children. She graduated from E.E. Butler High School in 1963. Soon after, she married James Osborne and the two started a family. Frankie’s career with the Hall County Board of Education began after the youngest child started public school. She retired after 17 years of service in the cafeteria at South Hall Middle School.
Frankie was dedicated to her family. Wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, cousin - whatever the role, she did them with unconditional love. She raised her children with strong core values. She took great pleasure in teaching and spending time with her grandsons. She could often be found loading her vehicle in preparation for a road trip to their activities. She was always their number one fan in whatever they were doing.
Frankie became a loyal member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church at a very young age. Over the years, she sang in the choir; taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School; served as a Youth Director; chaired the Kitchen Committee and Women of Mt. Zion United; and, most recently, served on the Mother’s Board. She was a devoted Christian and loved her Mt. Zion Church family. She was involved in other ministries as well. When the church doors opened, she was there.
Frankie represented Mt. Zion Baptist Church as the Assistant Youth Director at the Greater Northwestern Baptist Association (NWBA) of Georgia. When she was no longer able to actively participate, she was declared the Assistant Youth Director Emeritus.
Frankie was preceded in death by her mother, Nellie Keels Stringer; father, Frank Stringer; and brother, Randy Stringer.
On Saturday, February 6, 2021, Frankie departed this world with her family by her side to enter her heavenly home. Her memories will be forever cherished by her loving husband of 57 years, James; daughters Denise (Johnnie) Jordan and Kim Osborne; son, Rodney (Sherrie) Osborne; grandchildren, John Jordan, Casey Osborne, Jemon Randolph, Dezmond Osborne and Jarese Jordan; sister, Linda Ruth Stringer; sister-in-law Janice (Anthony) Robertson; a host of nieces and nephews; other family members; and her beloved Mt.
