Kathy M. Shirley

Mrs. Kathy M. Shirley, age 61, of Commerce, GA died Wednesday, February 10, 2021 at her residence.  Mrs. Shirley was born in Lake Charles, LA to Jim and Kay Mitchell of Commerce.  She was a member of Maysville Baptist Church and a retired educator.  Mrs. Shirley earned a Bachelor of Arts in Education, Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Master of Arts in Education, Master of Science in Nursing and an Educational Specialists.  Mrs. Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Mark Shirley.

Mrs. Shirley is survived by her daughter, Rebecca Shirley Liger of Blakely; sons, Andrew Shirley of Cleveland, MS and Benjamin Shirley of Thomasville; sister, Wendy Mitchell Miller of Athens; brother, Bobby Mitchell of Commerce and four grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 3 PM, Sunday, February 14 at Maysville Baptist Church with Dr. Shane Roberson officiating.  Interment will follow in Jackson Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends at the church on Sunday from 2 PM to 3 PM.  Flowers are welcome, or donations may be made to the Salvation Army or Doctors Without Borders.
