Shelia Lorraine Peebles, 76 of Cleveland passed away on Monday, February 8, 2021 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center. She was born on September 19, 1944 in Beaufort, SC, but spent the majority of her life in Gainesville; with the past 5 years living in the Cleveland, GA area.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Walter Gunter and Reva Brown Gunter; husband, Thomas Peebles; brother, Walter Clark Gunter, Jr.; daughters, Annette Wilson and Janet Grizzle; step-son, Timothy Peebles; grandson, Jonathan Grizzle and great grandson, Tyson Grizzle.
She is survived by children, David Wilson (Diane), Tanya Woodard (Chuck), Tonya Abernathy (Scott); grandchildren, Candice Bennett, Jeremy Grizzle, Matthew Grizzle, Haley Brown, Courtney Woodard, Cody Woodard, Makayla Peebles, Isabella Abernathy, Wyatt Abernathy, Isaac Abernathy and 17 great grandchildren. Special nieces, Stephanie Kennedy, Kim Holbrook, Angela Bowen; daughter-in-law Dawn Peebles Hollis and son-in-law Junior Grizzle also survive.
She loved God, spending time with family, listening to southern gospel music, and watching old movies. She will be dearly missed.
Memorial services will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 12, 2021 at Whitehall Baptist Church. Pastor Ken Martin will officiate.
