Demetra (Mary) Botzis Milam

Obituary Date: Monday, February 8, 2021

Demetra (Mary) Botzis Milam, a good and faithful servant of Jesus Christ, passed away in the earliest hour of February 8, 2021 in Cumming, GA.  She was 81 years old.

Thought by her husband and countless others as the “kindest person I’ve ever known”, Mary was beloved by generations of family and friends.  Having battled multiple sclerosis for 40 years with unequivocal grace, she inspired all she knew by adapting to every impairment with little complaint.  Throughout her life, her service to others was exemplary.

Mary was born on January 27, 1940 in Charleston, SC.  She earned a BS of Pharmacy at the Medical University of South Carolina, where she was the only woman in her class, and she retired after working four decades as a pharmacist in metro-Atlanta. She was a healer of body and spirit.

Mary is survived by her husband of 56 years William (Bill) James Milam III, sister Myrna Dunn, sons and daughter (Steve, Kerri, Tim and Mark), nine grandchildren and twelve great-  grandchildren.

A visitation for family only will be held at Ingram Funeral Home in Cumming, GA from 1 to 2 pm on Thursday, February 11, followed by a private service at Saints Raphael, Nicholas and Irene Greek Orthodox Church at 3:00 p.m., which will be streamed online via https://stsrni.org/. Click the Facebook or YouTube link in the upper left-hand corner of page.

An interment service will be held for extended family in Charleston, SC on a date to be determined later.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation to Saints Raphael, Nicholas and Irene Greek Orthodox church are appreciated. www.Tinyurl.com/7qprfxec
