Dorothy Aiken

Dorothy Aiken, age 75, of Helen, passed away on Saturday, February 6, 2021.

Mrs. Aiken was born on August 12, 1945, in Cleveland, Georgia, to the late Cecil and Alva Hollingsworth Kimsey.    She was a retired teacher and a very active member of Center Baptist Church, where she enjoyed teaching Sunday School and preparing the church bulletin each week.  Dorothy was a member of the Senior Saints at church and the Women’s Missionary Union.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hershel Dean Aiken; sister, Maggie Kimsey.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Deana and Drue Sanders, Helen; daughter, Denise Stilwell, Franklin County; grandchildren, Ben Sanders, Charlie Sanders, Ashley and Gerald Johnson, Jr.; sister and brother-in-law, Gayle and Gary Harper, Morganton, GA; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Dan and Nancy Aiken; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, February 10, 2021 at Center Baptist Church.  The Rev. Michael Wilkes will officiate.  Interment will follow at Center Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 P.M. – 2:00 P.M. Wednesday at the church, prior to the funeral service.
