Dean Bradford Elzey, age 75, of Cumming, GA passed away February 5, 2021. Dean was born in 1945, to the late Ivan James and Equilla A. Elzey. He was a member and head deacon at Cumming Second Baptist Church in Cumming, GA. Dean co-owned and operated GA National Glass for many years. He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Annie Mae Carden of Calhoun, and brother, James Elzey of Cumming.
He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Velma Celesta Elzey; children, Deanna Elzey, Bradley (Christa) Elzey, and Kevin (Michelle) Elzey all of Cumming; brothers, Amos (Mae) Elzey of Cleveland, Jerry (Nell) Elzey of Cumming, Donald (Sharon) Elzey of Cumming, Bruce Elzey of Spring Hill, FL; grandchildren, Malia, Cameron, Jaxon, Anna, and Bryson Elzey all of Cumming, GA.; and step grandchildren, Anthony, Kera, Hilary and Jacob; along with many other loving relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held Monday, February 8, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. at Cumming Second Baptist Church in Cumming, GA, with Rev. Stephen Davis, and Rev. Larry Vaughan. Interment will follow at Sawnee View Gardens in Cumming, GA. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Monday from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. The remains will lie in state at the church from 2:00 p.m. until the hour of service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Cumming Second Baptist Church Building Fund, 217 Veterans Memorial Blvd, Cumming, GA 30040, in remembrance of Dean.
