Mr. Guy Gene Marlow, 86, of Gainesville passed away Sunday, January 31, 2021, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following a brief illness.
A private graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 4, 2021, in Memorial Park Cemetery. Rev. Sondra Jones will officiate. A celebration of life with family and friends will be scheduled for a later date.
Born on September 27, 1934, in Lumpkin County, he was the son of the late Hoyt Jackson and Dessie Grindle Marlow. He was employed with Northeast Georgia Health System for 46 years and a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Marlow is preceded in death by his son, Guy Randall Marlow and his first wife, Inez Cleveland Marlow.
Mr. Marlow is survived by his wife, Diane Quinn Marlow of Gainesville; brother, Jerry Marlow of Dahlonega; daughters, Catherine Kinworthy of Greenville, SC, Susan Teaver (Stewart) of Gainesville; Sandy Denney (Doug) of Athens; Missy Gregory (Alan) of Gainesville; son Tim Marlow (Tina) of Ellijay; step sons, Cary Quinn (Shelia) of Denver , CO; Chris Quinn (Melanie) of Gainesville; step daughter, Carol Lowman of Gainesville; granddaughters, Ginny Williams (Mark) of Greenville, SC; Eleanor Vaughn (Cameron) of Greenville, SC; Mary Frances Clark (Donnie) of Gainesville; Samantha Denney of Athens; Jessie Denney of Athens; grandsons, John Marlow of Brookhaven; Burns Marlow of Gainesville; Will Marlow of Brookhaven; Matt Marlow of Athens; Carson Gregory of Gainesville; Stewart Teaver, Jr. of Gainesville; step grandchildren, Hannah Staples of Ellijay; Avery Staples of Ellijay; Jacob Quinn of Austin, TX; Tripp Lowman of Gainesville; Lake Lowman (Elizabeth) of Lawrenceville; Ensley Lowman of Gainesville and Isabella Quinn of Gainesville; great grandchildren, Rhett Williams, John Rogers Williams, Margaret Williams, Porter Vaughn, Goldie Vaughn, George Vaughn, all of Greenville, SC.
