Lena Sims Emmett age 92 of Gainesville entered heaven Sunday January 31, 2021 at the Willowood Nursing Home in Flowery Branch.
Lena was born January 21, 1929 in Gainesville to the late Fred & Jossie Simpson Sims. She worked for the Gainesville Times as a Newspaper distributor. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her husband, James Frank Emmett; son, Johnny Lee Couch; brother, Arnold Sims.
Survivors include, sons, Sonny (Lorrie) Emmett, Benny (Rosalie) Emmett & Lamar Emmett; daughter, Sandra Patterson; brother, Billy Sims; 10 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and a host of other relatives also survive.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday February 3, 2021 at the Chapel of Ward’s Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until service time on Wednesday at the funeral home.
