Edwin L. Heaton

Mr. Edwin L. Heaton, 85, of Gainesville, passed away Friday, January 29, 2021 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center Gainesville Campus.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 6, 2021 in Memorial Park Cemetery. Rev. Tommy Wooten will officiate. The family will receive friends at the graveside after the service. Due to Covid-19, the family requests that everyone attending the visitation and service wear a mask and adhere to social distancing guidelines.

Born on September 4, 1935 in Lavonia, GA, he was the son of the late Ossie Cleve and Corrine Smith Heaton. He was retired from the Hall County School System where he was a bus driver and custodian at Mt. Vernon Elementary School. Mr. Heaton was a member of Northside Church.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Heaton is preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie Heaton; son in law, Tim Rail and brother, Cleve Heaton.

Mr. Heaton is survived by his son and daughter in law, David L. and Felicia Heaton; daughter, Karen Rail; granddaughters, Kacey Rail-Headrick (Bryan), Kristi Rail; grandson, Kyle Heaton (Charlee); granddaughter, Morgan Heaton; great granddaughters, Lauren Headrick, Faith Headrick; great grandson, Silas Heaton; brothers, Gene Heaton, Calvin Heaton; sister, Barbara Ann Driggers; brother, William Heaton and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
