Mrs. Pauline Reeves Davis, age 95 of Clarkesville passed away Thursday, January 28, 2021 surrounded by her family.
A daughter of the late John and Myrtle Farlee Reeves, she was born January 24, 1926 in Indianapolis, Indiana. After her mother’s passing when Pauline was 2 years old, she was raised by her father, John Reeves and step-mother, Ruth Phillips Reeves. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John A. Davis, Jr., sisters, Blanche and Margaret and infant brother, Jimmy.
Pauline was wife to WWII Army Air Corp Veteran John A. Davis, Jr. She was a wife and mother to their five children. After her husbands passing, she went back to work at Habersham Home and devotedly cared for her patients until she retired. She was a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church. She was an avid reader and enjoyed her family. She loved animals and fed any critter that wandered up from stray pets, possums, raccoons, birds and bears.
Survivors include sons, John “Johnny” (Maria) Davis of Demorest, Bobby (Alice) Davis of Cleveland, Jerry Davis of Clarkesville and Kenneth (Marlene) Davis of Cleveland; daughter, Barbara (David) Galvond of Elberton; grandchildren, Patricia (Scott) Smith, Stephanie (Rick) Burnett, Dava (Tim) Dobbs, Barjon (Laura) Galvond; great-grandchildren, Andy, Isabella, Geran, Anna, Miracle, Gabriella, Rory and Kilian; a number of nieces and nephews.
The family will have a private graveside with The Reverend Tim Holcomb officiating.
The family will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Saturday, January 30, 2021, 12:45 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. Due to the health and well-being of our community, social distancing must be observed.
