William “Bill” Clyde Hill, age 70, of Demorest, passed away on Wednesday, January 27, 2021.
Mr. Hill was born on July 17, 1950, in Atlanta, Georgia, to the late Clifford and Doris Riddle Hill. He worked as an engineer and was a veteran of the United States Navy. In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his step-father, Harvey Calhoun; granddaughter, Deborah Jean Cantrell.
He was best known to be the first person to help anyone who needed it. His goal in this life was to lead as many people to Jesus as he could. His favorite song said, “I’m just a nobody trying to tell everybody about somebody who saved my soul.” To his friends he was Sam or Bill, to his grandchildren he was Dah, but to those he loved the most, he was Daddy.
Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Rebecca “Becky” and Scooter Franks, and Heather and Montey Cantrell; son and daughter-in-law, Jeremiah and Amantha Hill; grandchildren, Lauriebeth Franks, Alyssa Franks, Dustin Cantrell, Chris Neil, Braiden Cantrell, Connor Cantrell, Ryder Cantrell, Kanyan Cantrell, Micah Hill, Yarah Hill, Isaac Hill, Elias Hill; 3 great-grandchildren also survive.
A graveside service will be held at 3:00 P.M. Sunday, February 7, 2021 at Nacoochee United Methodist Church Cemetery. The Rev. David Bost will officiate.
